License plate of Bulgaria, Cars

This is a vehicle with license plates issued between 1992 and 1999. These plate follow the same rules as current ones, they do not use letters exclusive to the cyrillic alphabet, but don't have a band on the left. In Veliko Tarnovo they start with one letter at the end. By 1999 they get to BT **** AB, at which point the new plates with flag band come out. This old series stays valid until 2006, when for no apparent reason they suddenly get invalidated.

Interesting description. :) Do you know when the series of plates for your region will run out, or is there still plenty of combinations to be made?

There is still a lot, lot, lot more available. And if they run out the regional could will probably be changed, like how it's happening in Sofia. They've exhausted C and CA, now they've started CB

Do you know why the TX plates usually end with X* or *X?

It is unknown to us. In some parts of Bulgaria the license plates follow the alphabetical order, but in others it's just a mess. It looks like they just pick whatever looks nice for the next series.

Same in Austria, for example in Tamsweg (TA), one of the smallest districts, all plates end with E*.
