License plate of Bahrain, Cars

My dad's second car, a '99 GX.R. Replacing his blue '82 Cressida, he basically wanted something that could seat the entire family and do long-distance highway traveling across the Gulf.

As of 2023, it's now my hand-me-down daily driver.

I actually kinda like it, it's just a shame that the fuel economy's bankrupting my entire extended family .

And what I see, your father changed "an almost antique car" to "an old car". Was newer automobile too expensive to you?

Mind you, virtually all of the cars my family have bought were brand new and most of them are still around in varying conditions.
My dad currently drives a 2019 Sunny.

Also, this LC sat mostly undriven for much of the mid to late 2010s because of how large it was (some older neighbourhoods have quite narrow roads) and how terrible the fuel mileage is. I believe it had sub-200K KMs when i started driving it in late 2019, pretty low mileage for a J100 in the GCC.

So, you live pretty good, and that's in the country, which, as I know, has some kinda "Shi'a apartheid" what must worsen the life of the most... :pardon:

Better off financially than some locals sure but we're literally living off paycheck to paycheck, especially with increasing living costs. This is true across the majority of Bahrainis irregardless of the different ethnics/religious/political groups.

I'm not really in a mood to delve into that sort of discussion but i had to clear that up from the get go.
