Ahh the mighty Sagaris! It's my favourite from TVR, and I will own one... One day! It's not a want, it's going to happen, I just haven't worked out how yet! The day it was released to the public was my birthday too, so I think there is some destiny there

Fantastic! I am rooting for you! Are they hard to come by?
Thanks! One day..!! There are currently 3 for sale that I can see in the UK, usually when I look it ranges from 0 to 3 at any given time. Last time I saw one on the road was 2015, it was the original factory prototype which was great to see it still around! http://platesmania.com/uk/nomer7926400 The last one I saw at a show was 2016 I think, I might have one more recent spot from before Covid.

Fantastic spot as usual! Certainly a very cool car to aspire to own in the future! I can't imagine they are the most reliable however
Well there is an engine upgrade that became available (from 4.0 to 4.3) which is known to help - but that said I once knew a guy who owned a TVR Cerbera for many years, he used the car daily. Every morning he left the car to idle and warm up the engine, had it serviced on time and drove it freely. Never gave him any issues - just needed to be treated well and it responded! Failing that, if it really doesn't stay reliable, the old Corvette lump fits right in

Isn't that true with most cars, even modern? Regular servicing and good treatment will make almost any car last!
I definitely think so! If my cars are stone cold I always try to let them get some movement on the temperature gauge before driving them (sometimes it's not possible) but I never push them over 2500 rpm until the temperature is in the operating range. Plus I always go through the gears up and down twice to get the gearbox oil moving before I pull away. Maybe I baby them too much, but so far the only mechanical things that have broken on my cars have been because of ageing and getting old so I like to think I am doing the right thing And yet out of 3 cars only 1 is working right now

I always am mindful of the temperature, although to be honest I didn't know the gearbox trick, I'll certainly be doing that from now on! I'm not too upset about replacing aging parts, it's just part of the lifespan. Luckily I only have one car to tend to maintenance of
The gearbox trick I learned working for Lotus many years ago where you can feel the difference between a notchy cold gearbox and a smooth warm gearbox - in fact my Subaru is really notchy on cold mornings, hence why I get things moving without the pressure of speed before starting off. I honestly can't say if it helps but I notice a difference so I hope it helps the car too!

It was always an interesting feeling putting it in gear after leaving the car out overnight in the winter in my last Volkswagen. Haven't had to leave my new one outside yet, will certainly be using your trick regardless!
