I don't know much about these amatuer radio callsign plates but this one only had a two digit suffix which I am assuming makes it older, although I am not sure if they can be transferred. I found a photo of a 1966 plate with the same callsign - activate comments and I am happy to share :)

I am also a registered amatuer radio operator with ISED (innovation science and economic development Canada), my call signs are VE6III and VE6BSY, The 2 digit call signs are available to those who have held their license for a minimum of 10 years. The reason why I have VE6BSY, i requested this additional callsign as I was able to use it to register an older copy of the plate from 1985 under my name. A plate which is almost 20 years older than me! Although, I do not use it on my vehicle yet, I just use the new one as I am working to co-ordinate additional copies with Service Alberta.

Really appreciate the insight, I've historically never had much interest in these plates but started reading up on them and they are pretty neat!
