Quite! The 1203s were known for being notoriously slow. In the 80's they were fleet cars of the ambulance. Apparently it was not uncommon to overtake a flashing, wailing 1203 ambulance on the highway, struggling to maintain 60 kph in an incline. But they were a slight improvement over the previous 1202, which weren't as tall, and the medics had to hold the IV bag out of the window, for example.
