Oxblood request to our Czech friends .... how much is a vanity plate over there? Looks like it's quite affordable given the numbers of them on this website!
They cost 5000 CZK per plate (190 Euros), so 380 Euros for a car/truck
A vanity plate is usually seen as an open display of snottiness, snobbishness, a big flashing sign that says "I got enough money to wipe my ass with". Granted, I've yet to speak with any vanity plate owner so I don't know what sort of people they actually are. But to me, a piece of metal that costs 2 € to manufacture, to be sold at nearly 200% profit (I imagine nearly 500% in Belgium at that price), it just seems like a waste of money, really. Especially if you happen to lose the plate or somebody steals it, at which point you aren't allowed to request the same letter combination, you need a different one and you also need to pay for it again. I'm not swimming in money, it's not worth it for me.
But despite that, lots of people in many different countries are willing to pay that price and that means that vanity plates aren't a niche market after all. We wouldn't be seeing so many of those if it were.
Many people view it the same way here in Norway. It costs the same here as in Belgium. Especially where I live people look down on any form of displaying wealth. Some vanity plates can be seen here and there, but they are a rare sight.
Sometimes there are surprises however, such as this Corolla I saw a while ago.
Oxblood Matia as u know they asked 2000 € for a while but had to reduce the price again as sales were dropping by around 80% Greetz from Kortenberg to Huy!
Yeah, I know about it and I think it's 1000 euros per letter
