I'm not sure, he wrote that he stops spotting because it annoys the people in his town, but that doesn't explain why he left both platesmania and facebook...

People here are sensitive about their licence plates. On Hungary's biggest used car site Használtautó.hu almost every car's plate is blocked, blurred or removed.

I'd say only about 50% of them is covered, sometimes with the weirdest things possible (like a wooden beam, and my favourite was the photographer's foot in sock+sandal
) Otherwise yes, many people are shocked if someone finds out their plate. Especially in a town like Vecsés, where most inhabitants are not the brightest (as GR20 told me)...
