The Tiger was Sunbeam's muscle-car version of the Sunbeam Alpine sportscar. It was developed primarily for the American market, where the buyers were not very impressed by the relatively puny engines used in the Alpine.
Designed and devised by Shelby, the actual production was handled by Jensen Motors.
Production was cut short in 1967 when Chrysler aquired ownership of the Rootes Group and Sunbeam. Powered by a Ford engine, Chrysler instantly ended production, not wanting to offer Ford-engined models.
