When Siba Surya first imported secondhand trucks from the UK, they just attached new Indonesian license plate to their trucks without removing original UK license plate like this photo from official Siba Surya FB Account. Later, UK license plate removed from their truck fleet maybe because of legal reason. Siba Surya trucks are almost seen everyday in Surabaya roads, because they have their branch office here.

I don't think there is any legal reason, because i don't find any law that prevent this. because. i've seen some imported truck still having UK or Indian plates.
my guess is because Siba Surya had major rebranding at some point, because their truck is uniform now.

Maybe part of that.
I forgot which year they started removing UK license plate from their fleet but at one point, National Police (Korlantas Polri) commenced nationwide strengthening traffic law enforcement known locally as Operasi Patuh and/or Operasi Zebra which also targeting heavily modified license plate and undocumented foreign license plate which at that time some people installed foreign (and probably fake) license plate i.e. Japanese or Thai license plate in their vehicle just for show off. So they removed their UK license plate from their fleet to avoid their drivers got a ticket because some officers thought UK license plate in their vehicles as traffic code violation. Yeah, just usual "better safe than sorry", I guess.
