By the way, given the recent difficult relations between the two countries and even the war, I was surprised that there are quite a lot of cars with Kuwaiti license plates in Iraq. Apparently, the disagreements are over.

Iraq is safe now, just like the UAE or Qatar. in Baghdad, I left the car open, and even with the windows open. The locals are very friendly but there are practically no tourists there. it is not worth visiting it. There's nothing interesting there. Baghdad is a complete ruin, nothing has been restored there after the war. it is very uncomfortable to travel by car - traffic jams and military checkpoints. Alternatively, it is better to visit the Kurdish part of Iraq. There are beautiful landscapes, mountains there, the capital of Kurdistan, Erbil, is actively being built and in some districts resemble the developed Dubai or Doha. It is noticeable that this is a rich eastern city. It will be closer to visit Kurdistan from Iran. But keep in mind that there are also many military and checkpoints there which makes it difficult to move due to constant checks.
