Website moderators have the right to block users who ignore the basic rules and requirements for uploading photos or submitting information to photos.

The purpose of the website, is to showcase high-quality and interesting photos of license plates installed on vehicles (cars, buses, motorcycles, trailers, etc.), which are presented and systemized on the website using galleries, categorised by country and plate-type. You may upload any photos with license plates supported by the gallery, as well as communicate and network with thousands of website users and share your impressions with them.

The website's moderation team have developed the website, using a database system which enables the recording of high-quality images of interesting vehicles (cars, motorcycles, etc.) and their license plates, where the built-in search function will help find results of license plates or vehicles using different parameters, from our database of over 11 million photos, and counting.

In this section, we go through the rules of our website for our new users, as well as the basic requirements and conditions for uploading photos and comments to the gallery of the website.

The complete rules of the website are long, and at first glance, complicated, but we are confident that after a while you will become familiar with them. Novice users will be granted leniancy in respecting the quality of photos. Be accustomed in the process of spotting!

Geographic double spots (duplicate photos) of the same license plate on the same vehicle may only occur in different countries and in different regions, if regional division is defined for a particular country. 5.4. After you have reasonably added your photo to replacement, the old photo that came under replacement will be removed from the gallery.

6. Filling data about a photo

6.1. Before you upload a photo, select the section of the country where the license plate is from, then select the type and design of the license plate (for some countries, you are required to also add the region/province code, or chose the background colour/style of the license plate). After that, you may add characters of the license plate (type and/or select them from a droplist, including, for example, specific characters for Chinese or Thailandese plates). Remember that adding photos of license plates that are not supported by the gallery (related to the missing type and/or belonging to a province/state not represented in it) is not allowed.

6.2. When uploading a photo, you should specify the make (brand) and model of the vehicle. The make (brand) and model of the vehicle can be read on the vehicle itself (such as badging on the sides or rear of the vehicle) or you can determine the brand and model of the vehicle, through the use of third-party plate-checking websites. For buses, you can often find the brand and model by license plate through the profile resources. If the brand of the vehicle is not in the list of brands, or there is no visible model under the specified brand, you should write the name of the missing brand or model in the "Extra information" field, and leave the "Specify brand and model of vehicle" field with the missing brand or model empty. A website moderator will add the relevant make (brand) and model in due course.

6.3. If you can't identify, or do not know the make (brand) or model of the vehicle you are uploading, then leave the "Specify brand and model of vehicle" field with the "I Don't Know" tab, and after uplading, send an error message stating the issue (the "red button" with a triangle with an exclamation mark on).

6.4. Please remember, the constant failure to specify the make (brands) and models, is punished in the following cases, if:

6.4.1. the make (brand) or model on the photo is clearly readable on the vehicle;
6.4.2. in the gallery there is another photo of the same vehicle and license plate with the specified make (brand) and model;
6.4.3. There is a reliable publicly available plate-checking source, where you can identify the brand and model of the vehicle by the license plate.

6.5. While uploading a photo, you need to put the relevant tags to that photo, if they can be applied to the added photo (the list of tags is in the full version of the rules). The "tag cloud" section can be found at the bottom of the photo upload interface form.

6.6. While uploading a photo, you need to specify the location of where the photograph was taken (specifying the country and/or region (state, province or city, according to the list for doubling photos given in the full version of the rules). If the photo was taken in the country that the photographed license plate is registered to, you do not need to specify the country.

6.7. You are allowed to not to specify the region (state, province, or city) if the license plate contains the geographical index (code) of the region, or its graphic design corresponds to the region where the photo was taken (as an example, a vehicle with a license plate from California, being spotted in California). For countries that have a regional division according to the list for doubling spots (as shown on the website's full rules), but not having geographic indexing on the country's nationwide numeration system of license plates, the location of where the photo was taken, must always be specified.

6.8. Detailing of the location with the exact address of the photo (such as street name, house numbers etc.) is prohibited.

7. Rights of the Administration

7.1. The Administration has the right to, at its own discretion:

7.1.1. delete any photos and/or comments;
7.1.2. change the registration name (nickname) of the user, transfer the user to another group of users.

7.2. In case of violation of the rules by the user, the Administration has the right to impose restrictions on the rights of the user, to use the website (the rights to visit the website and upload photos onto the gallery, the right to communicate on the website).

If you have questions, after registration you may use the feedback form with the administration or ask for assistance from the moderators.
