Skoda Enyaq

1st gen iV SUV (NY), 2020–

License plate of Norway, Cars

Larvik, Norway
#carsof2021

Yesterday morning I came behind this Skoda, where the euroband is replaced by a Skoda logo. According to Norwegian laws this is strictly forbidden, and if the authorities sees this in a control the driver will have a fine. Colouring a blue euroband into black gives a fine of NOK 3000 ($321)

non-standard plate

Strict laws

Absolutely! I can't really see the connection between traffic safety and the colour or design of the euroband. On the other side I can't see the reason for hiding or removing the euroband...

My reason would be to make the car more unique. Although I'd rather have an old plate

As of 02.05.22 the sale of the reflective labels that car owners could buy from the road authorities, are now finished, and all kinds of hiding or removing the euroband is forbidden. Those who already have these labels from the authorities are allowed to keep them on their cars, but it is said that when driving abroad it is recommended to have a viewable (and valid) euroband.

Why did they just suddenly stop with the white ones?

I don't know the exact reason, but I think it had something to do with the administration of this.
