First Wartburg Motorwagen in Platesmania?
Text on the white sign:
Wartburg 1899
Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler produced the world's first cars, but these were not the most popular ones in the beginning. On the other hand, Eisenacher Motoren Werke in Germany sold very well, with its small Wartburg "voiturettes".
Norway's first car importer, Albert Hiorth, sold such cars. As many as three of six remaining cars in the world are found in Norway. The car has room for three people, but the engine power barely is enough for one person uphill. The Norwegian Technical Museum has reconstructed and restored this car.
