To celebrate the 1000th XR picture which I've contributed 902 of them with. I want to celebrate this achievement with a spot that might be the sexiest 740 I've ever spotted to this day!

XR is for those who don't know my hometown, and it's nice to see it being one of the top codes in the Norwegian gallery. It still is a fairly rare code, and I love seeing you guys upload any XR to the site! Keep up your great work!

Same owner since imported to norway!

Wonderful way of celebrating the 1000th XR plate :drink: Lovely car and nice plate  XR plates are definitely rare, at least outside Trøndelag county, and that's the reason why I try to stretch a bit longer everytime I see such one, and get a spot of it :thumbs up:

Congrats on the 1000th, and it's quite funny, cause my hometown also used to have license plates starting with the letter X, originally just an X followed by numbers, but after switching to double-letter prefixes in 1958, it became XA, then later XB.

My childhood family car was a white, late Morris Minor 1000 Super with plates XB21238.

In Denmark, the combination XR was used between 1958 and 1966 on cars from the county of Odder, south of Aarhus.

Because the prefix was used in the 1958-66 system, it was blocked in the 1966-76 system and again in the 1976-2012 system. It was only after the launch of the online vehicle registry DMR in 2012, that the XR-prefix was finally unlocked again, but the present DK-system is progressing in alphabetical order and is currently around combinations like DW-DY, so a long way to go before XR is reached.

BUT if you have a car or motorcycle from between 1958 and 1966, it is possible to get retro enamel plates with the prefix XR. Apart from that, the only XR-plates you'll find are on vehicles that have remained registered, uninterrupted since 1966 and come from the (relatively small) county of Odder, so just as the XR-prefix is rare in Norway, it's also very rare in Denmark, and I can guarantee you wouldn't be able to reach 1000 Danish XR-plates! :D
