Plate check shows this car is imported from PL to NZ — apparently the GM factory in Gliwice used to build Astra for Opel/Vauxhall/Holden.

The car was manufactured in Poland, to NZ specifications. It was imported to NZ at new, and never saw a polish road or registration. The manufacturing plant of the car is not related to its spec, as any plant can pretty much build a car to any specification.
