Could be fake.
1) The plate is made homemade
2) There is no such registration number in polish insurance database
3) There is no polish legislation sticker on the windscreen

1. I agree that the plate looks homemade
2. Polish insurance database, that sounds interesting. Is it a public website? If it is, then I'd love to know the url.

You just need a registration number or a VIN number, it shows only the car make and if the insurance was valid during that day, no more info. There is more extensive database but you need registration number AND a VIN number AND a date of first registration which is hard to get if you are not the car owner.

Thanks. The insurance database could be useful, even if the info is - as you say - very limited. In some cases I suspect certain danish trucks and vans have been exported to Poland. In this case I'll know the vin (from danish registries) and could use that to check if the vehicle went to Poland.

The "more extensive database" could be interesting as well: if i see a photo of a polish truck, I'll know the license plate (of course), and if I think it is identical to a former danish one, I'll know the vin and the date of first registration.

A good example is, that a lot of danish DAB buses were exported to Poland - in this case I'll know all 3 factors required for a search, so I'd like to know the url of that site as well.

Might I add, the website is full of mistakes. Supercars have the wrong model listed, 2/3 of my family's cars are listed incorrectly. I'd take it with a massive grain of salt.

It's polish website. What to expect? All polish governament systems/websites are buggy and poorly made. They barely work, have a lot of bugs and are often down because of technical problems. I'm happy that at least we were given some online check tools !;)
