Maybe it is a non-standard plate Geman export plate.make look like a Portugal plate

It can't be a German export plate because the format doesn't match. Could be a fake plate instead.

P of Portugal is very fat normally is more skinny. Looks fake yes. Maybe stolen and abandoned

AS plates would have been normally registered around October 2005  :)

I mean plate itself has to be fake because, like you said it was "registered in the future".
BUT the number plate is indeed registered to a BMW 5 Touring (E61) 535d 3.0 Diesel with first registration date of 2005.

No ideia what's the shenanigans with the year/month band  %)
