It is because the taxes related to cars are much lower then in some other EU-members. In Hungary the '(sometimes a given bramd: BMW,MB,AUDI...) car with Slovak LP' (szlovák rendszámos autó) is the synonym for the luxury car which owner does not pay for parking, violates Highway Code, uses disabled permit etc. Of course it concerns only to the well-off Hungarians with Slovak LPs not to the real Slovaks.

There's even a joke about this:
- Pistike, what would you like to be when you grow up?
- A Slovakian disabled.
- Why???
- Because they have the best cars in Budapest.
