Mercedes-Benz Unimog
Our 1982 Unimog 406/U 900 vehicle!
First registration date in Turkey: 30.September.1999 (as 01 KT 147)
Originally made in Germany and shipped to its original customer in the Netherlands in 1982, this Unimog came to Turkey in the mid-90s. This Unimog was belonged to a Dutch oil/petroleum exploration company. During the 90s, this vehicle used as a 4x4 terrain vehicle (not ATV), according to my father.
Once the oil exploration work is completed, this Unimog left to the customs' area at the port of Mersin. We bought this vehicle via a Turkish customs' auction, in 1999. Once we bought it, we made changes to the existing hydraulic system and we repainted it to white with black stripes.
Our vehicle then taken by my uncle to Adana, when it stayed a night. The following day, it taken to the Nusaybin district, Mardin Province, Turkey. During the 2000s, we used it as a farm tractor.
