Welcome to Platesmania! Feel free to ask if you have any questions
Vehicles purchased under the Home Delivery Export Scheme (HDES) were entitled to return to the UK after spending time abroad, and didn't require re-registration (provided the original reg plates were still present). I've seen loads of photos of these 'expats' on British roads over the years. This is a replica plate, as that font was introduced in September 2001.
I'm not sure how it works, because I have seen a handful on the road, mostly on Triumphs from memory, and always thought that they should have been exported yet here they are still on the road. My only thought is that maybe when registered they were to be exported but for whatever reason they stayed here, and no one changed the plates...?
So, seems like this beauty wasn't exported in the end...or at least brought back to UK
