Audi Q7

2nd gen (4MB), 2015–2019

License plate of the United Kingdom, 2001 year system

The taillights/taillight connection is probably faulty, hence why the secondary brake lights on the bumper are applied instead.

Spotted in Manchester, United Kingdom

Why the driver does not want to fix the broken light

Either the driver isn't aware of the problem (not all drivers are thorough with their daily/weekly car checks), or the driver is waiting for repair, and driving the car in the meantime. Since the car technically still has two brake lights (and one third brake light above), the car is still driving legally.
