Sorry for the low resolution, I lost the original photos many years ago when my old computer died. I was able to find a few that I had uploaded on a forum I used back then, but the resolution was reduced, and I don't think I will ever find the original photos now :(

Having the plate transferred from one of the ultimate and most important hypercars of its time, onto a Mercedes Truck, is incredibly odd, but quite amazing too! :)

I think, but I could be wrong, that when I took the photo this F1 was still owned by McLaren themselves. When the car was sold it seems like they kept the plate and put it to use on a truck! Or maybe something before the truck that hasn't (yet) been uploaded... Interesting now that it shows as being registered to a Porsche 911 GT3, suggesting perhaps that they have sold the rights of the plate too...

I think I've found the connection. Both the truck and this F1 seem to be owned by Lanzante, a motorsport/car restoration company. This F1 was driven by the company at the 2012 FoS, and has been present at more recent events, but I can't find any recent images of this particular car with plates assigned to it. The company still owns the plate, as they've posted this 991 GT3 Touring on their Instagram.

Ahh yes, that would be it. I totally forgot about Lanzante being involved with the F1 GTR. I helped sell a couple of their Lotus racing cars a few years ago so in my mind they come up as Lotus to me, but of course their bigger work was with the McLaren racing cars!
