I've always been a big fan of "unloved" car models, like the Allegro, Maxi and the original Alfasud and when I started my adult collection of model cars back in 2010, one of the first cars on my "to get" list was an Austin Maxi...
Turned out it's so unloved, that in all the years since it was launched, no model company has ever cared to issue a full production-run model of it. There was an obscure 1970s plastic kit from Airfix in 1/32th scale, a white metal model from Gems & Cobwebs (extremely expensive, very limited production and poor quality), and a special edition made on order to the Austin Maxi Owners Club... and until a few years ago, that was it.
That situation has changed a bit now, with a couple of different resin variants from Silas Models - all very limited production runs as well, but at least this time I was there when they came out and managed to hoard a bunch

6 to be exact, some 1969-models and some 1972, in various classic colours all based on real cars: tartan red (RKN 879G), cumulus grey (TKN 879H), El Paso beige (YLO 135G), connaught green (PUN 111H), harvest gold (MNU 643L) and a teal blue (DAX 124K).
