I've just done a VIN check, and it is built to US-specification, although code '820' (VEHICLES FOR TOURIST (USA, JAPAN, AUSTRALIA)) suggests that the car was through the European Delivery Program, presumably the original buyer wanted to tour Europe before shipping the car to the US.

No, LastVIN.com, probably the best VIN decoder I've found, though it's unfortunately only available for Mercedes products (Mercedes-Benz includes detailed records about their produced vehicles through their VINs).
