Rover Maestro

1st gen (XC), 1986–1994

License plate of the United Kingdom, 1983 year system

'1988 Austin (Rover) Maestro City X
Registered as an Austin on DVLA database but by age is a Rover...

My car, owned since 10.2023

It was a 1 owner car from new until a couple of years ago when the first owner passed away from old age. It was passed between a couple of owners and came to me at 183,000 miles (295,000 km). It was running on 3 cylinders and has been home maintained for years. Now back on 4 cylinders I am looking forward to reaching 200,000 miles!

Lovely, great font. I remember seeing this at Hurtwood park in August of last year!

Yep it was chugging away dropping oil and struggling on 3 cylinders :D I took it off the road shortly after Hurtwood, as the MOT ran out and I figured I would only go for a new MOT once I investigated the engine issues. Life got in the way for a bit but it's finally sorted with a fresh MOT and a lovely loooong list of advisories - I mean come on it's a 36 year old British Leyland product over 183,000 miles, we know it's not perfect you don't to tell me :D
Looking forward to tax it and get it into use again, but currently enjoying the Fusion as the daily and let's be honest, it's more comfortable than the Maestro!

Thanks, not many, i haven't seen another driving around for several years. I am actually planning to drive it to NL (or D if I am feeling brave) maybe this year or next year so you might see it if it's along any of the highways you spot on =)
