I remember seeing these on the roads in Ireland when I was a kid, but if there's only 16 left on UK roads, there must be none or maybe only a handful left on Irish roads!

Well the car derived van was always a much more popular thing in Ireland than the UK and they received many more options in that market than we did here like the Renault Megane Van etc. The 1 of 16 is just for the diesel version, there are 40 petrol ones left, down from 535 in 2014 and 120 in 2014 for the diesel.

That's true, the "Megavan" and the 1st & 2nd gen Focus vans were quite common options in the early 2000s, but so few are left now as none were preserved of course. That's still a noticable decrease though, like 90% have been off the road in the space of just a decade! That's crazy!
