Normally this wouldn't be due to come today, but since it's a fairly weird spot with a story behind I decided to upload it directly:
This morning as I was having breakfast in our wintergarden a Hilux on standard English plates passed by on our road (it's just a back road, formed as a circle and it leads to nowhere, so strange to see that.)
As I was going to our local pub in the evening it passed me again, and I thought: Cool, maybe I'll see it parked up once.
In the pub there were several people speaking English on one table and as I left I spotted that English plate on German font. There was another one like this further down the road which I didn't spot, so I hope I catch this and the standard-plated Hilux again.

It does seem to all look legitimate.
BTW, do you know if Germany has a Governmental Licenseplate database, like the UK with HPI Check or Netherlands with RDW?

We have, but I don't think you can have legal access to it as a private person.

His vehicle tax was due on the 1st of March and he didn't pay it (so he is unlicensed). The car is still insured, though.
