CarDriver3838 Doesn't Tennessee have the S1S 1K1 format? Tennessee and Florida have the weirdest formats.
Yes they do ! It was pretty straightforward here AAA 000, 000 AAA, AAA 00A, A00 AAA, AAA A00, but then they figured out it's too populated of a state to have 6 and got all creative with AA0 00A, A00 00A, AA0 0AA, 000 0AA, A00 0AA, 000 00A, Ridiculous...

Why don’t they just do AAA AAA that might last longer
CarDriver3838 Yeah, in SC, it's really simple. We're just like ABC 123, 123 ABC, 1234AB. Temp tags be like RL1028R, so yeah. Pretty simple
Alabama is not as straightforward SC but If they didn’t skip around so much and start in weird places it would be easier, like I found out that the GBA (god bless America) actually started at 0010AA0 with it being on a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee (which means it’s being transferred from vehicle to vehicle as the plate was issued in 2013)
Виталик aka 777 if we check on wiki, now issued A12 3BC (Z00 0AA to Z99 9ZZ; Y00 0AA to Y24 2BB (as of June 27, 2020)) so i think it is vanity/individual plate
I thought it might be. But why the spaces and numbers ... Silly
That's SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE License Plate Format...
