Can you still stand by the roads? Try to "accidentally" get other cars in the photo. I sometimes have to take these backseat photos. Occasionally, I do parking lot photos when the "circumstances" are right. Try the last tip when you get to do parking lot photos again.

Yes, I can still do all of the above but what I can’t do is go in parking lots by myself (but only when i’m with my father as my stepmother doesn’t care and even sends me pics but she is bad about only getting the plate and not the car which is my pet peeve) HOWEVER my father doesn’t pay attention to me when we walk down an aisle so usually if it’s a goodie I can get it. when I am able to drive I should maybe be able to drive down the aisle and snap snap snap

So..it happened on January 30th I was at Walmart in Oxford/Anniston and I had been in the parking lot for about an hour. A police officer drives up and tells me that someone had called them to report me because they thought I was looking in vehicles like to break in or something. I explained to her what I was doing and she was fine with it but she needed to talk with my parents so we head inside, she said that it wasn’t a good idea for me to be in the lot that long (which in hindsight it wasn’t) my parents took it as “I shouldn’t be left in the lot at all” and that was that. everything was ok at this point UNTIL we go outside to leave, My father give me the go-ahead to take some pics near us so I go up to a gold Honda Accord and take a pic not really thinking and this Lil ghetto barbie comes out swinging, she is all over me yelling about how illegal it was (it’s not) and how she wanted me to explain why. obviously I, a meek 15 year old not wanting any confrontation was trying to back up a little she is still yelling and she gets her dad so it’s me and the girl and her dad. the dad was understanding I told them I did all I could do to make it right by deleting the pic and things had calmed down at this point so we left (with her still yelling in the background) Thanks for coming to my TED talk

Do not hold the phone perpendicular to the ground. Put it at an angle like you're texting.
Keep your eyes focused looking ahead of you at times like you're more focused on your surroundings then at (taking a photo)...
Act like you're texting or swiping looking at some article perhaps.
DO NOT STOP. Keep walking, take the photo IN MOTION. Who takes photos in motion ?? You're not taking a photo are you ? Yes YOU ARE, today's technology allows you to take photos in motion so as you're not too close and you or the car isn't going FAST.
Check to see that there's not a lot of people. 1 or 2 is fine... 3 to 5 is a bit riskier... More than 5 increases the chance that someone is studying you and there is more of a chance to get caught. If you master this technique however, it will not matter how many people are nearby... As long as they're not right behind you of course !!
Turn your screen brightness level DOWN so that people cannot see that you're in camera mode !
Disable flash... Verify it is off before you start your activities lol
