It got very ridiculous in 2020 lol. I've seen a few different formats myself, like WKA8CEA, P2A1B7A, B4A 6TB, and WFA 10D. See what I mean?

Lol, I think they were trying to make it hard to track the series progression or something, but this wasn't exactly the way to go about it.
