I think it's just due to the size of Florida's population. They have more than half the population of the entirety of Canada so it makes sense that they sort of make their way all over.

That's true. Florida is a large state, which explains why you can't escape seeing them wherever you are. Same with Texas, on of the most common states here in SC, and all over North America.

Plus, people are moving out of California rather quickly these days, which also "helps" us see more California cars than before.
