Those combos from the first letters H-K for the entire Charlotte area i can think of as of now should be HAD, HAE, HBS, HDL, HDS, HES, HER, HFD, HFJ, HFK, HHN, HJK, HKP, HKR, JAM, JAN, JAX, JAY, JBC, JCK, JCM (which is this one), JDL, JDM, JEA, JEE, JEN, JFC, JFK, JHN, JMX, JMY, KAA, KAH, KAJ, KBY, KCL, KCY, KDL, KEA, KEL, KEM, KEN, KEP, KEX, KFF, and KFL.

Basically the DMV gets a shipment of plates with the same letters. I never see JCM plates cuz im on other side of nc and they were only shipped to charlotte

If you look at my Texas Photos you will see that I almost always indicate the county of issuance ! Very interesting to see that North Carolina does this as well ! I had no idea, because I never lived in North Carolina... But this is really a cool development !

Yeah true. For him he sees JCM all the time but on the other side of NC u dont see them at all.
