Unfortunately, the English version of the platesmania rules misses the article containing the requirement to keep the photo horizontal. If you want to follow this rule, make sure the middle of image is a vertical line

There are so many worse photos in the US gallery, I'm not sure why this one is that bad.

Exactly, Rivitography honestly has some of the best photos in this gallery, so I'd just leave his photos be. Hell, I make worse photos, so he's probably gonna do it to me, too
