1 NS, 1 PEI, 1 AL, 1 BC, 2 NB. Even while in Quebec City I saw 0 NB plates.
A lot of license plates were completely covered with dirt or snow, so this didn't help either and it was so damn cold that my hand would freeze without wearing gloves...
