I have a pic of one that’s repainted. I might be able to upload it. It recently got DBXR plates. So I’m assuming the cops must’ve told bro to get new plates. There’s also one at my work that’s repainted too

It's funny - I can't imagine a world where it's easier to paint it than to just pop into the registry and get new ones

its free if it’s within the recalled range and or under 5 years. So I never understood why people repaint them. I’ve also seen standard ones remade into vanities before. Which Elmira has one it’s BJKA-251. It was fully peeled for a bit and then later on remade into vanity

Weird - what a strange thing. I'm surprised there wasn't a mandate to get them replaced

usually the only times they get replaced is when they get renewed in person the clerk will persuade them to get new ones, cops pull you over and ticket you $120 for unreadable plate, or they choose to go in themselves. Third option is rare it seems since no one wants to go replace plates

I've seen some rough AB plates recently too - although they have all been ~40 years old
