Junglecarz I missed my only Alderney on the A34 in Hampshire. Surprised I haven't seen more to be honest
I'm not surprised. There's only 2000 people and there is no Ro-Ro ferry - all cars have to travel with freight and that's only a weekly service GBA - UK

Yeah that's true but given the location and the fact that Southampton has daily flights to Alderney I was hoping for one
Moritz Velten Why does Alderney have special plates?
Because, despite being included in the Crown Dependency of Guernsey (notably due to its small population and size), GBA enjoys a large autonomy. Hence why it has its own UN international road code and its own plates.
“ While Alderney enjoys full autonomy in law (except in matters of foreign affairs and defence, like the other Channel Islands and the Isle of Man), under the provisions of a formal agreement (known as "the 1948 Agreement") entered into between the Governments of Alderney and of Guernsey, certain matters have been delegated to Guernsey. These are known as 'the transferred services'.”
