VO54MKP Junglecarz I saw a 1 plate in Swords just north of DUblin as well on an old schoolbus - long time ago so not sure which county it was registered to Thanks. No 1 plates are quite rare to see in Ireland.
True! Since 2014, there are only 26 county codes in the ROI and 2 registration periods a year (eg. 231 & 241), which means only 52 plates with the number "1" are issued each year since 2014

*Another correction: The 1 & 2 system has been in place since 2013. I get confused because some of the county codes were changed/removed in 2014!
Juterman They should have made 1-6 (two-month periods) instead of half-year 1 and 2.
That probably woul've made more sense, but being Ireland, this change was brought out in 2013 and most people still believe to this day that it was because 13 is an unlucky number and that no one would buy a car which has the number 13 on the plate, so the government thought '131' and '132' would work better
Of course, it was also done to improve car sales in the 2nd half of the year, but no one can get past the whole 'unlucky number 13' thing!
