International double spot! (D - E)
Hello everybody,
Some of you may have noticed I've been absend for the past few weeks. This is because my computer broke down, after getting it repaired I discovered that my hard drive hadn't survived the crash. I'm really upset about this as I've lost about 10,000 photos that I was still planning to upload.
I got some special spots on flickr so for example this Moroccon truck was saved, but I've still lost a lot of pictures from my trip through Germany to Italy last summer and also pictures from a trip to Berlin.
Although this summer I will go on holiday to the south of France, Monaco and Liguria in Italy. I hope to spot a lot of cars and cool plates and I want to go supercar spotting in Monaco one night, so i'll be able to entertain you guys after the holidays. Also I got some pictures on my phone still so they will appear here too.
I wish you all a nice summer and I hope I could make a 'new' start on the website in September with loads of new pictures.

Omg, I’m so sorry that’s terrible

Thanks! Luckily I found a couple hunderd on my iCloud, but still it sucks. Wish you luck as well with finding cool new spots.

It's such a shame that you lost those photos, I've fallen victim to that in the past too, losing some (maybe about 1000 or so photos) of my original photos from when I first started carspotting in 2010. It's of the upmost importance to back all your data up for photographers, especially using a physical means (external hard drives etc.). I have got into a habit of doing that, through the past experiences and slight paranoia of loosing valuable spots.

Yeah I just started saving all my photo's on my iCloud and funny enough, the computer crashed on the moment I was going to add all my pictures on an external hard drive. Anyway, I will make sure to keep all my pictures on different places from now on. Don't want to experience this anymore.

Can't you read the hard drive then? My computer crashed a few months ago. And my dad has a hard disk reader for problems like that. My father and i were able to read it and then I could successfully transfer all my photos to my new computer. I was very happy and very luckily! But it took a lot of effort.

Wanneer ik deze PC open, dan staat er zeg maar wel dat de harde schijf vol is, maar wanneer ik naar de bestandjes gaan zijn ze onzichtbaar of geblokkeerd of zo. Dus ze staan er nog wel op maar ik kan er niet bij. Ook heb ik al 2 verschillende 'recover' apps gebruikt, maar dan zegt hij dat hij niet in de harde schijf komt.

We haven’t really planned the exact days from when and where we will be. I do know we will be on holiday from August 3 to August 30. Were probably going more inland first. But if I’m going to be there around that time I’ll let ya know.

Ahh, that’s annoying. When I use my camera I always put all the photos on the computer immediately so they are save. But that’s only the case if the hard drive doesn’t quit.
