44-R738N I understand that feeling...it has happened to me a few times as well.
Yeah, every spotter knows that feeling, sadly. But it's especially sad when you see something what you can't spot.. I'm still sad that I missed a Korean Hyundai 2 years ago.

In the last few months I missed a Quebec plated Subaru Forester. I was driving and I tried to turn around and chase it but it went out of town before I could get close to it.
In another occasion I saw a Jeep Cherokee with California plates reading "XPICTOC" (translates to Christ) in opposite traffic. No chance to get it... Never seen it again yet.

That's too bad, especially that both plates are very interesting. But definitely the worst feeling is when you see and miss something in opposite traffic.. Let's hope we'll have better luck next time we see something cool

I've seen a Slovenian vanity plate ending in "IC XC" in Loznica and forgot to spot it. It could've been an interesting spot though.
44-R738N I can't call this "often" but they aren't rare as well - I just see them from time to time. The most recent is KR DEYAN
They are rare for me but despite that I managed to spot several. I wonder if the plate KR DEJAN was already taken so the owner put DEYAN instead Reminds me of a driving school in Podgorica, called ''Točak'' (wheel in English). They have PG TOČAK, PG TOCAK and PG TOĆAK on their cars

Now try to play games with automatic plate recognition if those cars ever got on a highway where it exists...

Nah, I doubt those cars will ever leave the country as they're used daily for new learners. And as Montenegro doesn't differentiate between 0 and O on the plates they can't have any more similar combinations I remember when my friend and I once went to Romania and the system didn't recognize the letter Ž which he had on his plates at that time and we asked the lady who sold us the vignette about that and she said, it is what it is, can't help you
