A DAF 46, built between the end of 1974 and 1976. In January 1975 Volvo bought DAF cars, so this is the last new model made by DAF. This one is built in 1974 and that means that this is one of the few 46s that were produced under the flag of DAF. The units produced between 1975 and 1976 were made under the flag of Volvo cars (but still sold as DAF 46, unlike the DAF 66 which was renamed 'Volvo 66'.)
Other fact: Because of the special variomatic gearbox, DAFs were able to go as fast backwards as they did forwards (115 km/h). That was also the reason DAFs were quite popular in a national TV show (during the '70/'80) where the contestants had to drive backwards on a race track as fast as they could.
