That's not true, our plate system in Portugal is sequential, so first comes AA, then AB and so on. JB was assigned in 2010, meaning this particular Peugeot wasn't first registered in Portugal. In fact the steering wheel's on the right, which makes me think it belongs to a British man who immigrated to Portugal in 2010, brought his car along and eventually moved back to the UK.

05/05 is the date of manufacture of the car. That's what it means on the plates.

05/05 es la fecha de fabricación del automóvil. Eso es lo que significa en los platos.


La banda amarilla yo creo que es la fecha de la primera matriculación del vehículo, sea del país que sea.

True, it is just easier to explain as date of manufacture, which is most often same as date of first registration regardless of the country.  :pardon:
