The rules require the car to take up at least 1/6 of the photo. You don't crop harder because pixels will appear . This indicates that you have a weak camera. This is not a problem if you take a photo of a car without movement and from a closer distance. Sorry for the lecture. But if your hobby is for a long time, then you need to improve the quality. Otherwise, you will regret the lost opportunities
Beerlab Ace I want a bit of the scenery too if it exists The rules require the car to take up at least 1/6 of the photo. You don't crop harder because pixels will appear . I'm sorry, I didn't know that. I'll definetly do better in the future. Thanks for mentioning this.
Yes, my camera is very weak. I'm using my phone and a lot of pictures I take I can't upload due to the plate being unreadable.
It's fine! I appreciate it a lot. Without this lecture I wouldn't know much better. Sorry if this is a dumb question. But what should I look for in a camera? That can capture movement well.
Ace But what should I look for in a camera? That can capture movement well.
unfortunately, for moving objects you need a SLR camera. I use a not very expensive Nikon 3500 18-55mm. Even a good smartphone will not allow you to get a high-quality picture for a moving subject. But you can get a good shot from a bad camera. All you need, is not trembling hands, focus time, close range and some good weather For example, here is shot from an old Chinese noname smartphone that I bought for my little son. https://platesmania.com/ua/nomer19143552

Okay, I see. I'll invest in a better camera in the future. Cameras are so expensive today so I need to save up first. Thanks for the help though, much appreciated.
It makes sense I feel like, phones are not made to be good cameras.
That fits with me! I can take good pictures when it's close and good weather. But when it's far away it's way harder. I've seen a lot of foreign plates that I've wanted to upload but the plate is unreadable.
Thanks again for the help. I appreciate it a lot. I'll invest as soon as possible

This is not true. I never had an SLR camera in my life, but still uploaded thousands of decent quality photos of moving cars. A compact camera with at least 8-10x optical zoom works fine too. Unfortunately they're getting difficult to find, last time I wanted to buy one, it seemed like all of them were out of stock or no longer in production. (Maybe it's easier to buy one used, but then it might break at any time...)

Sorry, my friend, but we have a different concept of quality . Your quality is not bad for a website, but the pixels are visible even without zoom. I cut the number into my virtual collection, that is, I do a multiple zoom. And I like it when the picture is not blurry and I can see little details

Well. I got some news. Quality might get better in the future! ^^ Bought recently a used Nikon 550D. My friend has one and they inspired me to get one too. Just waiting for it to arrive and start spotting for real!
Beerlab Ace Bought recently a used Nikon 550D. Wow! Not much time has passed from words to deeds
I thought it was going to take awhile since cameras nowadays are so expensive. But I found a good used one! Only about 1,600 pictures or something taken. So next week or in two weeks, quality should be much better.
