I know that but still, lol Do you know how long it would take Illinois to Replace ? I'd never have this many in January of 2017 lol... And all other states are way slower to come out as well... Alabama's Previous Replating has gone similarly fast in my memory !

On a side note, it looks V plates are starting to replace the orange plates a little faster. I recent watched an HQP plate become VCJ 415.

It seems that since around 2009 whenever that Earliest Base on here came out...
We GO TO THE BEACH !! Then get hot and
We HEAD TO THE MOUNTAINS !! Then get cold and
We GO TO THE BEACH !! Then get hot and 2029....
You know !

Expiration month is by first letter of your last name, maybe that goes faster than other states??? I don’t remember the last replating so maybe it went that fast then

It was ‘09, I think the “official” explanation is that they are making a plate for every “area” of Alabama, yet this plate is just the 09-14 plate with a color change and different details

Well, some M plates have already been replaced. Ink saver L plates went from LZC-LZZ. I still know of a few around here, but they are very rare around Spartanburg. I watched an LTV plate become UFH last year. L is from 2015, btw.

Yeah I started to think that myself as well, really there are just 2 areas ! North and South, Mountains and Beaches... I mean what else can they represent ? The Alabama Desert ? :jokingly: Maybe a City Scape for Birmingham or a Capitol Design for Montgomery ? Maybe a plate to promote Hate featuring Alabama on one side and Auburn on another !!

Yes I remember reading about this expiration scheme in the 2000s ! Great post for others on here. In Florida it's done by your Birth Month in Illinois, when you register !!

Also very good information !! Love this informative list ! It seems correct as I read through it. I've been photographing since 2014. Interesting that L & M (cigarettes lol) are already being replaced !! How is the expiration done in SC ?

I believe in Georgia the expiration months are similar except they use November and December for passenger registration too

For real, maybe a design representing “Methhead trailers of alabama” they have front vanities that have Alabama/Auburn both and it says “The House Stands Divided”

And BTW, When I said it was difficult to delete those comment notifications, it seems my previous phone couldn't handle it, this phone gets through them very easily without hesitation ... I'm not sure exactly why but I just cleared all of them ! :D
