Welcome to Platesmania! Not sure if you're aware, these are remade from the "greenie" base once the inspection station deems your green plate unreadable from years of wear and tear.

Two quick notes. Please be sure to add a location in the description. Also, uploading pictures that are horizontal just works better on the site (4:3 is best)

I am well aware about this being a remade greenie. The reason I'm saying this is super rare is because remade greenies are super rare, only issued for a couple years in the 90s. I can get the location but I honestly don't remember well myself

Cool! And yup, I've seen a couple as well, including a remake 6 digit numerical greenie on a spirit base! Just keep the location and cropping in mind for future uploads, that's all. I look forward to seeing more northeast finds!

I've seen one of those as well. that's probably the rarest passenger variation to find. I've seen at least one before though, 414378. unfortunately I couldn't get a picture of it. I crunched some numbers once, and I got an estimate of 120 of these plates existing in the state. I think these mostly come from double remake plates, going from 1972 red -> 1977 green -> 1987 spirit.

I'll try to take photos of the interesting ones I find but usually I don't have enough time to do so

They are doing it again so you may start noticing more of them. When you go to order a remake on the site it still says they do not, but they are doing it. I'll have to look later for specific examples but i have noticed several recent examples both all numeric and alphanumeric. I noticed that when you plug the 123ABC into the site as "Pass. Normal Green" it will say cancelled, and the same number as "Pass. Normal Red" it will show as active with the status date being the same as the cancel date of the green version.

This was changed over in 2020. You can tell from the "1" die that is used being the more modern die.
The phenomenon I described is present here. The green version shows cancelled in Feb. 2020 and the red is active as of the same date. They were able to start remaking them and flagging them as red in the system in 2019 when they upgraded from ALARS to ATLAS.
