Min. 15.000HUF (app. 50 EUR) - on-the-spot fine, otherwise 30.000 Ft (e.g. the violation is recorded by a camera) - after infraction proceedings.

If you have foreign LP, you are in danger only if you are stopped by the police, in these questions there is no cooperation between authorities of the EU-member countries, there is an additional reason why many well-off Hungarians have cars registered abroad (especially in Bavaria).
