Well, as they bought a new tractor in the 90's they decided to let the Lanz run on the same plates as the new Lindner (Wechselkennzeichen) so they had to give the nice black plates back... I would have never done that!! Shame on my dad and brother LOL 
btw the black plates read N 11.601 and were used also on another tractor (Steyr 15) between ca. 1960 and the 1990's.

Ahh, what a pity. I thought of something like that. Still, a lovely tractor!!
