License plate of Belgium, 1951 year system

Merxheim/Rhineland-Palatinate/Germany

There'll be no uploads next week (at least not in the beginning) because I have carnival holidays now (yes, really :) ) which I'll spend at my grandmother's.
Maybe I can spot some foreign plates there, it's near the Autobahn :)

No, on the 25th of April I've got 'May-holidays' for two weeks, after that my exams start at the 12th of May till 22nd of May (or 27th), after that my summerholidays begin if I don't have to re-do any exams. :)

I sure do! :) on the 27th of May the last exams will be held, on the 12th of June I'll get to know if I passed my exams or not. So basically my holiday starts at the 27th, because I won't have to go to school anymore after my exams :)

That's cool! In Valais we finish school on the 18th of June! (and that's early this year compared with other years...) And what about the back to school? Is it in July/August?

Thank you! And no, I'll go to 'VWO'. Right now I do 'HAVO', it's difficult to explain, but VWO is comparable to HAVO, but VWO is more difficult and you can take different courses. And, with VWO you can go to a university, with HAVO you can't. (Actually you could, but you have to do a specific education first. After that you can go to university, but doing VWO takes the same amount of time and you don't have to choose a specific education :) That's why I do VWO first.)

It's difficult to explain the Dutch schoolsystem, but I hope you understand it. =)

Actually my holiday starts on the 5th of July, and ends on the 17th of August. But because I won't have to go to school anymore after my last exam, my holiday starts at the 22nd of May. (Not on the 27th (I've read it wrong), only people with Music/Spanish/Turkish/Arab still have exams until the 27th)

So, in fact I've actually got holidays from the 22nd of May till the 17th of August. That's almost three months of holiday, so I'm very happy :)

Yeah, you are lucky! In Switzerland, most of the cantons have 2 months of holiday but some (like Zürich) only have 1 month in Summer! But I'm looking froward to go to the university, they have 3 months of holiday!

Btw, in which field are you going to study then? Already an idea for your future job?

That's weird? Do they have other holidays that are longer then? (Like Christmasholidays for example) And I still don't know what I want to do later, that's why I'm going to do VWO. (So I don't have to choose something specific)

Maybe I want to do something with selling/exporting cars, but a foreign language-study is also something I'd maybe like. And maybe I even want to join the army, so I really don't know what to choose. But, right now I've still got two years before I have to make a decision :)

Yes, they have 1 or 2 weeks more in Spring or in Autumn! You have a (long) list of holiday in Switzerland here: http://www.edk.ch/dyn/11707.php

That's cool! It's funny to see that every canton has it's specific language, and that the table isn't just in German or French. :)

That's normal for us, and even more in Valais (a bilingual canton), you find inscriptions in both languages everywhere! Fortunately, we aren't like Belgians, who almost fight if you speak French in Flanders...

Haha, I can relate to that... In The Netherlands we have two official languages: Dutch and Frisian. Frisian is mostly spoken in the provence of Friesland/Fryslân, where I live. In other provences it would almost be an insult to speak Frisian, even some towns/cities in Fryslân (like the Island where I live on) it's highly unusual to speak Frisian.(Although I actually speak Frisian at home :))

People even bicker about the placenamesigns in Fryslân. People in cities/towns where they still speak Frisian think that the Frisian name of the city/town should be above the Dutch name. The sign of a town like Sneek/Snits looks like this:

But for many people this is 'unacceptable', because the Frisian name (Snits) should be above the Dutch name (Sneek).

I didn't knew about that :D As I was 13 we made a class trip to Sneek :)
Language problems aren't common in Germany obviously although local accents can heavily differ even in one federal state. :)
