They are even fairly rare in Bulgaria. Not popular due to the high price (3500€) and limited characters (only numbers and А, В, Е, К, М, Н, О, Р, С, Т, У, Х, which are the letters matching between the latin and cyrillic alphabet).
Until 2021 you also couldn't transfer these plates so your 3500€ were tied to one car and you cannot get the same plate again. Thankfully after that they introduced plate transferring and it "only" costs 500€ to transfer a vanity plate, so I think there will be a slight increase in their popularity.
