It's rare that I see an older car that I have absolutely zero prior knowledge of. This was one such occasion, so I had to look it up to find out a bit more.

Turns out it was the result of a shared project between Renault and Willys-Overland, but when Ford Brazil bought Willys-Overland, they got this almost finished car design as part of the "package"

After completing the project, Ford Brazil launched it onto the domestic market as Ford Corcel in 1968. A second generation followed in 1977, remaining in production until 1987 and a sales total of almost 1.5 million... but never sold outside of Brazil.

I mentioned that it was developed together with Renault, and their version of the car got quite a lot more international fame... that model was the Renault 12... aka Dacia 1300/1310/1400, which remained in production until 2004!!!
