That is very possible but it would cost about 75k Euros to take this plate out of the "BPT Pool" and put it on a private car... Seems a bit of to pay that much just for that
Well the plate is delivered to a taxi driver, so basically he can put it on ANY car he has. I have a taxi driver living in the same building I live - he has 3 cars, and he puts his short GE plate on one of these three cars.

Véhicule de Tourisme avec Chauffeur, basically private car with a professional driver. I've spotted some of them with taxi license plates (FR 99, VS 600). In Geneva, such cars are registered under the GE 96'XXX and GE 96X'XXX series ;)
